The opportunity

This is an exceptional opportunity for early-career Actuarial professionals to join one of Australia's leading insurers in the role of Actuarial Analyst. With multiple roles available working across short- and long-tail products within the NZ and Pacific portfolios. Join the dynamic Actuarial group at NZPAC, where you'll have the opportunity to also gain valuable exposure and hands-on experience in pricing and data analytics.

Your new role
  • Support the Senior Actuarial Manager to perform end-to-end reserving work for various products
  • Perform monthly BAU tasks and other Actuarial analysis as required
  • Be the 'go-to person' for data analysis and support to senior Actuarial professionals, enabling the team to provide meaningful insights to the business
  • In this role, during the first year, you'll play a vital part in supporting the pricing team during a team member's secondment to another role, ensuring the smooth functioning of operations and maintaining momentum in our pricing strategies and initiatives.
  • Continuously seek process improvement and be part of the QBE Actuarial modernisation journey


To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • You have obtained a tertiary qualification in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics or equivalent relevant disciplines.
  • Your experience will include proven Actuarial expertise within General Insurance, in reserving or pricing, and are ready to take the next step in your career with a leading global insurer known for providing career development and progression opportunities.
  • You have exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills and an ability to generate outside of the box creative solutions rather than following precedence.
  • You will also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and can utilise these to liaise with stakeholders at varying levels across the business to influence best practice outcomes.
