We have an opportunity to join Standard Life's award-winning Defined Benefit Solutions team, part of Retirement Solutions, as a BPA Pricing Basis Actuarial Analyst, supporting in the development of a competitive and robust pricing basis. The role You'll be responsible for supporting the BPA Pricing Basis team in ensuring that the pricing methodology and assumptions for Bulk Purchase Annuities are well thought through, robust and keep pace with new developments whilst keeping our new business franchise at the forefront of competitiveness. In return, you'll gain valuable insight into how bulk purchase annuities are priced, and exposure to a wide range of highly technical actuarial work. You will need to: Support the development and maintenance of the pricing basis and the associated governance framework Drive work to investigate modelling and assumption changes to ensure our pricing approach reflects the latest industry developments, changes to the product suite and any associated risks Help ensure basis changes are clearly documented and handed over to the pricing team in a well-controlled fashion Support on live deal pricing, to aid your understanding of the practical implementation of the pricing basis and to assist the deal pricing team in meeting the demand for BPA quotes. What we're looking for Strong technical and analytical skills with an understanding of annuity liability valuation methodologies, the assumptions that go into this, and the regulatory rules around this (Solvency II and Matching Adjustment) Be a nearly or newly qualified actuary, with study support available if required The ability to develop, maintain and expand on existing models in a well-documented and controlled way A strong desire to expand your technical knowledge and the willingness to get involved in work beyond your current experience Desire to help deliver complex change and be part of building and growing a developing business We want to hire the whole version of you.
