If you want to experience how things are done in the Life & Health Reinsurance team at our headquarters in Hannover/Germany, join us on a permanent basis commencing at the earliest possible date as a (Business) Mathematician / Physicist Life & Health Reinsurance.

You can look forward to

You contribute to the analysis and modelling of UK and German longevity risks. In this context you further advance the automation of our processes for data analysis and contract assessment in collaboration with other units.
  • Compiling portfolio and product analyses
  • Developing and maintaining tools in the programming language R for data preparation and analysis
  • Automating the processes associated with annuity management for purposes of data analysis and contract assessment
  • Collateralising our contracts in collaboration with colleagues from Collateral Management and our external service providers
  • Selecting and pricing contracts for the cession of longevity risks (retrocession)


You come equipped with

  • Several years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector or as an actuary
  • Master's degree in (business) mathematics / physics
  • Well-versed in the use of Excel
  • Initial programming skills and knowledge of the programming language R are an asset
  • Proficient user skills in English (at least level C1) and independent user skills in German (level B2)
  • Communication skills as well as an assured and service-centred approach to internal and external customers
  • International mindset and the willingness to travel to London once or twice a year
