Job Description

The Senior Sustainable Investment Analyst will be an active and productive member of the LGRI Investments Team by working under the supervision and guidance of more senior members of the team to provide analysis, presentations and other support on integration of sustainability and broader ESG considerations for LGRI's existing and for origination of new assets.

Duties include:
  • Be able to work independently and also to collaborate with other departments and business units, develop bespoke analysis and research on sustainability topics, sustainable investing assets and metrics, so that the candidate can provide recommendations on commercial rationale and risk analysis for improving approaches.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of LGRI Investment portfolios, key metrics of portfolio analytics, and participate in internal sustainability related working groups as necessary so that LGRI's ESG integration methodologies and processes are continuously improving.
  • Be responsible for drafting reports, proposals on fundamental analysis, portfolio level policies and methodology documents for peer review at L&G to ensure LGRI manages against sustainability risks targets leveraging investment opportunities where they become available.
  • Support senior members of the team with research and analysis on investment projects proactively, relating to new assets development so that LGRI's achieves sustainability and broader sustainability related objectives.
  • Liaise and work with the Pension Risk Transfer business development teams to develop analysis and external / internal communication on LGRI sustainability approaches and policies and support external engagements as necessary to effectively assure that LGRI's sustainability policies and achievements on Inclusive Capitalism targets are widely understood.
  • Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into the role holder's day to day operations and all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that to deliver good customer outcomes at all times and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk


Qualifications

  • Preferred degree or postgraduate qualification in subjects relevant for sustainable investing or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Preferred qualified or part-qualified CFA charterholder, Financial Risk Manager or actuary.
  • Solid understanding of investment concepts across asset classes with special regards to credit, ratings, spread, fixed income valuation.
  • Strong knowledge of climate, ESG or sustainable investing initiatives and methodologies, climate risk and investing frameworks, tools and approaches.
  • Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical and financial modelling skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Relevant experience within an asset owner or asset manager, bank or development finance institution. Other relevant experience could include working as an ESG/sustainability analyst for a data/research provider or management consultancy in the field of sustainable finance.
  • Strong and demonstrable track record of interacting well with a large range of stakeholders internally and externally.
