Actuarial Intern, Health Solutions - Fall 2024

Are you motivated by a dynamic and fast-paced learning environment? Do you want to gain experience in a professional environment? Aon is looking for Health Solutions Intern for the Fall 2024 term!

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and in office.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like

  • Produce calculations specific to group insurance plans, such as actuarial valuations, analytical studies and projections.
  • Provide technical support for client projects (cost projections, renewal, marketings, plan design enhancements, plan review, employee communication and administration)
  • Produce experience monitoring reports, including analysis of claim costs, trend and client relevant KPIs.
  • Draft client ready communication material to communicate results of our analysis.
  • Support ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business units to support client facing colleagues.
  • Coordinate projects with other team members, other business units and carriers!
  • Increase efficiency by contributing to the improvement of standardized processes and tools.
  • Participate in team projects and activities which drive innovation, improved client value and business results.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Student enrolled in an undergraduate program, such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook are required.
  • Proficiency in other programming languages such as VBA, R, or BI is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize under pressure to meet deadlines.
