Title: Contract Analyst - Corporate Markets

Location: Fargo, ND

Sign-on Bonus: $1,500

Job Summary:

    Draft, file, and secure state approvals of life or annuity products/forms to support product development and product initiatives. Other accountabilities include establishing and maintaining policy issue pages and illustration narrative content, reviewing advertising materials, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory reporting requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Draft language for new and existing life and annuity forms and supplemental agreements consistent with product specifications. Maintain documentation of form drafting, filing, and approvals.
  • Establish and maintain policy form issue system and illustration narrative content; test to validate accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain issue and administration forms for contract issue and administration. Maintain website repository of forms.
  • Submit forms as required to the State Insurance Departments/Interstate Compact to secure state approvals in a timely manner.
  • Respond to state objections in a timely manner to secure state approvals, which may include collaborating with other departments such as Legal, Compliance, Actuarial, Claim, Underwriting, and IT to address concerns.
  • Coordinate compilation of actuarial memos, sales illustrations, and, if applicable, marketing materials included with state filings.
  • Review state statutes and regulations, as needed, to determine their effect on company insurance products and coordinate any necessary changes.
  • Participate in market conduct exams and litigation requests, as needed.
  • Develop working relationships with state regulators to address decisions rendered by state personnel regarding disapproval of state filings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' related experience required
  • Working knowledge of life and/or annuity insurance products preferred
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make sound and proper decisions by drawing on professional expertise and experience
  • Detail-oriented, with solid organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team by demonstrating flexibility, understanding of other positions, and providing constructive and relevant input into discussions
  • Proficient use of PC software (MS Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with SERFF state filing submission program a plus
  • Criminal background check required.


Licenses and Certifications:

  • FLMI if supporting Life Business preferred
  • AAPA if supporting Annuity Business preferred
