Job Purpose

Perform actuarial reporting and strategic functions while working closely with other functional units to help management and local regulators ensure continued company viability.

  • Valuation of Liabilities
  • Prepares the valuation of liabilities and calculation of other items for input to the financial statement.
  • Ensures that the liabilities that have been set-up cover all future obligations to the policyholders and are calculated with a method and assumptions that are compliant with the applicable financial reporting standard (e.g., PFRS, AIFRS).
  • Reporting items for input to the financial statements


  • Dependency on the data from other departments (e.g., IT, Financial Control and Accounting, Alternative Channels) that could affect the quality and timeliness of the report.


  • Strategic Planning
  • Works extensively on forecasting to help management in setting the company's various KPI targets. The work includes coordination with different departments and distribution channels for their input as well as working with regional teams to finalize results.
  • Model setup and runs
  • Strategic Planning Pack
  • Dependency on inputs from various departments that's is critical to the resulting quality and timeliness of the Strategic Planning results.
  • Ensuring that there are no significant gaps in the model that could affect the projections and that the assumptions are consistent with the latest approved assumptions.

  • Prepares the Quarterly Statistical Report and the relevant exhibits of the Annual Statement.
  • Prepares the relevant figures of the Notes to the Financial Statement
  • Coordinates with local auditors and answers queries to comply with local requirements.

  • Performs UAT of the Prophet model to ensure that the model reflects the latest approved recommendations and that there are no significant gaps in the model that could significantly impact value assessment and projections.

  • Difficulty to test a wide array of products, especially those old products with no sufficient documentation.
  • Dependency on the assumptions review document, which is being handled by a separate unit.

Educational Qualifications

Relevant Experience

  • Graduate of BS Mathematics, BS Accountancy, BS Statistics, or other related courses
  • Passed at least one (1) SOA Preliminary Exam is a plus
  • Preferably with at least two (2) years' experience in a life insurance company or similar experience
