As an Associate Actuary, you will be a member of the Actuarial Modernization team, which primarily supports Institutional Market (IM) products such as Pension Risk Transfer(PRT), Structured Settlement, and Guaranteed Investment Contracts. The models developed by Actuarial Modernization team on AXIS platform will be used to produce statutory, GAAP and economic projections which will directly support valuation, capital management, asset liability management, and regulatory projections such as cash flow testing. You will have frequent and regular interactions with the valuation model owners, business line CFA team, actuarial control team, model production team and IT team.

Detailed responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Support the business needs to onboard new PRT cases into AXIS platform
    • Analyze model requirements
    • Create database store procedure to transform policy data into AXIS required format
    • Implement AXIS model for actuarial assumptions and valuation method
  • Support BAU modeling activities such as assumption updates, methodology improvements, regulatory required changes, etc.
  • Perform unit testing on development work and peer-review as assigned. Document all implantation steps
  • Provide model owners with any required ad hoc analysis
  • Support QA function by testing and remediating model discrepancies
  • Work with IT to resolve data issues or process issues
  • Automate model run process and improve model run efficiency
  • Support model transition to production team by providing effective documentation and communication


Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
  • 8+ years of actuarial work experience, predominantly in actuarial modeling
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
  • Experience with GGY AXIS preferred
  • Experience with PRT products preferred
  • Solid programming and data analytics experience
  • SQL, VBA, C++ or equivalent are preferred but not required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to cope with stress and fast-pace changes

For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA, the base salary range is $100,000-$140,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
