Job Description Summary

Carry out the following activities and provide leadership and direction in the Actuarial Change team to:
• Manage actuarial change projects carried out by Actuarial department either based on its own initiative or coming from outside, including from the wider Actuarial and Finance function and from the Group "Future Finance" or other initiatives.
• Support the management of Actuarial BAU processes, particularly where there is reliance between functions, involvement of contingent workers or a fixed timetable.

Provide leadership in PHKL Actuarial and across Finance on integrated change management and contribute to the management of the whole department.

Job Responsibilities

Project and change management of actuarial change projects to ensure they have an achievable plan and are then tracked against this plan. Including:
  • finance approval and budgeting during the project
  • project planning and monitoring, with actions identified to address delays
  • identification of resource required and any contentions for this resource
  • management of contingent workers (i.e. contractors, consultants) including vendor management; contract management; billing; performance and third-party risk management
  • managing interaction of projects with each other and BAU work. This includes ensuring that robust prioritization is carried out between stakeholders and decision makers
  • proper documentation and governance
  • identification and escalation of issues
  • risk identification and management


Support the management of Actuarial BAU processes including:
  • facilitate timetabling and resource management across different functions to ensure reporting and other deadlines are met, particularly where there is reliance between functions within or outside actuarial
  • management of contingent workers (i.e. contractors, consultants) including vendor management; contract management; billing; performance and third-party risk management
  • proper documentation and governance, including leadership of improvements in both areas where relevant


Support for change projects elsewhere in Actuarial and across Finance division or wider PHKL.

Manage relationships and alignment with various stakeholders across PHKL, Prudential Group and external parties. Including:
  • Internal: Actuarial teams, Finance, IT, Risk and Compliance
  • Group: Finance (including "Future Finance" transformation project), Actuarial, IT, project management, groupwide internal audit, Risk and Compliance
  • External: auditor, system providers (e.g. actuarial modelling software), consultants and contractors


Manage the Actuarial Change team. Ensure a framework for staff development is in place to maintain or improve engagement. Develop project delivery capability.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience managing complex transformation projects
  • Excellent leadership and change management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels (ie working level staff to C-level executives)
  • Experience managing third party vendors
  • Insurance industry experience preferable, particularly for finance and actuarial projects
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and to multiple business functions.
  • Bias for action and results driven
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities, cultures and business practices in an international organization
  • Operates with high standards and integrity
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible, adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English
