Developer, Property Pricing Models

Paris, France

In this role you will support the Global Property Pricing team, which encompasses Property, Construction and Energy lines of business, in the development and maintenance of pricing models and tools predominantly coded in R. The role reports into the Property Pricing team but will align closely with, and be supported by, developers working in the Property and Analytics Models (PAM) team.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
• Assist in model development and refinement of the Property, Construction and Energy pricing models and tools, including building enhancements, encoding additional pricing components into existing models, developing pricing APIs and improving user interfaces.
• Improve efficiency of existing code and focus on performance impact when implementing updates and additions to the tool.
• Liaise with Global Technology to manage release of model updates according to a pre-determined timetable.
• Assist with portfolio impact analyses using the pricing models to facilitate calibration and assessing impact of model updates.
• Facilitate connections to third party services/data and integration with other internal systems.
• Assist with management of the databases underlying the property pricing tools.
• Improve consistency of pricing model data capture and ability to reuse that data for other purposes.
• Improve user experience with pricing models.
• Work closely with colleagues on Pricing and Analytics Models (PAM) team to share knowledge and experience on development of non-property pricing models.
• Work with Operations & Technology, Pricing, and UW to design and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and information security requirements as well as pricing governance guidelines, working with Ops & Tech and the Pricing Operations team.

You will report to a Property Pricing Actuary.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
• Strong technical aptitude with experience programming (R/Shiny, Python, SQL, VBA) and working with other technical teams (Ops & Tech)
• Experience in coding and deploying multi-user applications using R and and using R Shiny
• Experience with JSON-format databases required; experience in cosmos databases useful but not essential.
• Ability to think strategically with a passion for innovation and a desire to utilize new technologies.
• Experience in non-life insurance pricing desirable but not essential
• Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Computer Science or related field.
• Pragmatic and results-driven, with strong attention to detail.
