About the Role

This role will provide management and the Board with an objective, accurate assessment of the internal control systems through planning and execution of the audit assignments of actuarial and other business processes. Assist the Head of Internal Audit with delivery of the audit plan, reporting to committees and management.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead audit actives according to the schedule and quality.
  • Review or prepare audit reports and lead discussion of issues and remedial action plans with the appropriate levels of management.
  • Provide advice and insights to management to enable informed management decisions.
  • Assist in the preparation/execution of the annual audit plan and schedules, Audit Committee reports, and fulfil other reporting requirements.
  • Follow-up outstanding audit issues and lead timely completion of agreed remedial actions by management.
  • Identifies key risks for entities / processes, with a focus on actuarial areas, considering the relevant strategies and business environment.
  • Work with the Audit Leaders in the development of actuarial audit strategies and procedures as well as share audit practices in actuarial area.
  • Liaise with the control community and other members of the company to contribute to the implementation of an effective and efficient system of internal control.
  • Develop rapport with management through regular communication of changes in business operations, emerging risks, and potential issues, etc.
  • Coordinate during audits being performed by regulators, external auditors (for special projects, if any), other entities' auditors and other groups providing assurance.


Job Requirements:
  • University graduates of Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or similar majors. Minimum 10 years of actuarial experience, preferred in the insurance, financial or a related industry.
  • Relevant professional qualification (such as Fellow of SOA) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of life insurance operations, industry practices and legislative/regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge with audit tools and other software such as Teammate, data analytic tools, Actuarial software, MS Office, and intermediate knowledge on IT
  • Strong command of both oral and written English
  • Good teammate who is committed to achieve results
  • Ability to meet the requirements within time, cost and quality
  • Excellent analytical, written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills, ability to analyze complex data, identify core issues, investigate, evaluate and reach conclusions.
  • Fast learner, proactive and motivated with integrity, trustworthy
