Our Small Business Analytics department has an opening in our corporate headquarters located in Fairfield, Ohio. We are seeking an analyst to support efforts in small business commercial lines to quote policies using minimal data inputs such as business name and address.

Salary: The pay range for this position is $91,250 - $178,750 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:
  • master policy rerating tools and use them to produce estimated quotes for BOP and other small business commercial lines
  • gain knowledge of internal and external data sources relevant to rating insurance policies and understand the contents and limitations of each
  • recommend approaches to estimating policy characteristics in the absence of verified policy data
  • explore new data sources as they become available and document the contents and limitations of each
  • communicate with business partners about their needs and expectations


Be equipped with:

Qualified candidates will possess many, but not necessarily all, of the following:
  • at least three years of property/casualty actuarial experience
  • proficiency with Microsoft® Excel
  • experience with VBA, SQL, SAS, R and/or Python
  • ability to work with, understand, and apply various kinds of insurance data, including from vendor solutions
  • ability to evaluate data quality
  • thorough understanding of insurance concepts and P/C insurance products, including the rating of commercial lines products
  • excellent documentation standards and communication skills
Bring education or experience from:
  • advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, actuarial science, or other related fields
  • graduate degree or Ph.D. is preferred
