We are seeking a technically adept individual with an interest in actuarial modelling and a flair for coding. You'll be the linchpin in our SJP Business Sales & Purchase Valuation model, leading pivotal initiatives and wielding your expertise in SQL, Power BI, VBA, and Excel. This role is perfect for a seasoned graduate with a background in financial services analysis.
What you'll be doing:
  • Become the go-to expert for the Business, Sale and Purchase Valuations model, guiding projects and daily operations with your expertise.
  • Take charge of data analysis and establish robust checks-and-controls within the Valuations model.
  • Manage our arsenal of Power BI dashboards, SQL queries, macros, and Tableau reports.
  • Lead the routine valuation of SJP's renewal Income assets.
  • Contribute to the development of the Business Sale and Purchase scheme and SJP Debt and Equity propositions through comprehensive Valuation reports.
  • Bridge the gap between technical complexities and non-technical partners by communicating analysis results effectively.
  • Ensure quality control and lead all aspects of the BAU actuarial process.
  • Continuously find opportunities for improvement and champion a culture of ongoing enhancement.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to Partner queries within SLA.
  • Apply your knowledge to drive operational efficiency improvements across the division.
Who we're looking for:
  • A degree or equivalent experience or post-graduate qualification, or demonstrated ability in a related field, preferably in Financial Services.
  • A solid understanding of SJP's business landscape, divisional functions, and cultural nuances.
  • Commercial acuity regarding the financial and risk implications of BSPs on the company.
  • Familiarity with the BSP Valuation Model/process and actuarial valuation principles.
  • Knowledge of remuneration structures supporting core SJP products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to tailor solutions for SJP Partners.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders confidently.
Essential proficiency in:
  • Developing SQL queries for analysing large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • VBA coding
  • Power BI for data analysis.
  • Desirable skills include experience with Tableau and automating tasks using Power Queries.
Special Requirements:
  • Occasional attendance and travel to Partner meetings within the UK may be required.
