Senior Associate, Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) Reporting

The Role
The EBS Reporting Senior Associate will be an integral member of the Group Actuarial Reporting team. This role will initially work on technical projects focusing on automation, controls, documentation, improvements and remediations. The successful candidate will also be involved in the production of financial and regulatory reporting under Bermuda's EBS framework, in particular the Bermudan Solvency Capital Requirement ('BSCR'). They will also have the opportunity to shape and improve Athora Group's reporting models, liaise with local entities on delivery of results , and improve internal processes. Progression opportunities are multiple, including to take on people management responsibilities within the reporting team structure in the future.

Key Contribution Areas
  • Develop a good understanding of EBS BSCR Reporting. Build technical expertise to assist with methodology investigations and queries.
  • Assist in production of the Group's Economic Capital balance sheet and Capital Requirements.
  • Assist in implementation of Capital Reporting methodology, processes and controls for Bermudan EBS BSCR and Economic Capital SCR across Athora Group.
  • Provide additional support to team members if needed to fulfil other roles in the team.
  • Analyse and explain results and material trends to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute towards the success of various Athora Group actuarial and data transformation projects.
  • Understand and implement analysis of change of BSCR and Economic Capital SCR.

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Newly-qualified Actuary highly desired, but soon-to-be qualified Actuaries also considered
  • Programming experience in R and Python
  • Experience of Risk Agility
  • Understanding of Solvency II or Bermudan regimes
  • Regulatory reporting processes
  • Hands on experience in a process: reporting and modelling
  • Insurance or banking background (asset side) or pensions background
