Responsibilities

The Product Analyst will collaborate across all functional areas to help implement and execute transformative insurance products in line with our vision. This role will partner with underwriting, actuarial, info technology and business development teams to coordinate and manage all state filings for all lines of business for Berkley Small Business Solutions. They will also be the key contact for Berkley Shared Services teams to coordinate state filings.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day execution, management, and reporting of state filings to be submitted to the Department of Insurance.
  • Partner with BSB IT, Berkley Shared Services teams and the business to support the delivery of critical projects.
  • Work with state regulators, monitoring changes to compliance statutes, bureau rate, rule, and form advisement via circulars and bulletins.
  • Review ISO, NCCI, AAIS Bureau circulars and bulletins to determine product impact and business needs.
  • Receive and analyze objection letters from state insurance examiners and coordinate responses within BSB.
  • Work with Actuarial on the rate analysis to determine effects on BSB book of business by line of business or state.
  • Prepare and submit filings to the State Insurance Departments, responding to examiner inquiries to secure approval.
  • Analyze state insurance regulations and statutes as necessary to respond to DOI inquiries to determine product impact and company action needed.
  • Develop & maintain processes to regularly communicate progress to executive leaders.
  • Develop and maintain product library for all lines of business.
  • Assist in the developing and writing new product language to support new or enhancements to existing forms.
  • Research, develop and maintain coverage forms and endorsements needed to support new and existing products to meet industry development and trends.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support for system programming.
  • May perform other functions as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years insurance experience with a property and casualty insurer in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable success working with senior IT and business colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, resolve problems and develop action plans.
  • 2+ years' experience working with various bureau databases (Insurance Services Offices: Manual/Circulars) and understanding of rates and rules required.
  • Ability to work in large collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to details, basic research skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, resolve problems and develop action plans.
  • Familiar with various bureau databases (Insurance Services Offices: Manual/Circulars) with experience and understanding of rates and rules required.
  • Detail oriented, organized
  • Occasional Travel
