Job Description

The opportunity

This position is accountable for accurately and promptly developing, producing, and analyzing financial models and reports. These form the basis for assessing of the Company's financial condition.

Responsibilities
  • IFRS17 valuation, including IFRS reserve, financial statement, and Board paper preparation,
    • Perform Driver of Earnings (DOE) analysis, including experience variance and period-to-period comparison
    • NB CSM analysis, which includes product margin (both onerous and non-onerous) and expense gap analysis
    • Preparation of management decks and Board papers. Additionally, support for Local published financial statement results and disclosure
    • Annual basis change exercise
    • Other regional office analysis and submissions as required
    • Support for initiatives to improve company earnings
    • Liaising with external and internal auditor
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as standards requirement
  • Canadian capital reporting (LICAT)
  • Support for monthly Forecasting and annual Business Plan exercises
  • Full blown experience studies
  • Providing support for other actuarial related matters and ad-hoc projects from time to time

What we are looking for
  • Preferably 7-10 years relevant experience.
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics.
  • Good progress in actuarial professional exams.
  • Good time management and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply actuarial theories to develop practical solutions to various assignments and projects.
  • Good interpersonal skill.
