Role Purpose:

The International Property Facultative Department of Everest Re Bermuda Ltd. - UK Branch, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Head of Hybrid Solutions - International Property.

You will include building and maintaining direct and intermediary business relationships where opportunities are cultivated, underwritten, and bound as per departmental strategy and underwriting authority. Colleague involvement and engagement is paramount during all aspects of the job function including but not limited to submission set up, modelling, actuarial, legal, and various referral protocols to executive leadership. You will also have responsibilities for business development in the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions.

This position will ideally suit someone with both D&F and Treaty experience.

Key Accountabilities
  • Participate in the strategic direction and P&L performance metrics of the International Property Hybrid Solutions portfolio.
  • Underwriting and managing business within guidelines on an on-going basis.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with national and regional reinsurance brokers.
  • Prospecting, cultivating, and producing new business.
  • Work closely and collaborate with the leaders globally on overall strategy; portfolio and aggregate management; underwriting appetite and guidelines and budget deliverables.
  • Represent Everest at various broker & client industry conferences and events, utilize existing and develop new external trading relationships in conjunction with line-underwriters and collaborate with all other product divisions to deliver a One Everest client-centric approach.
  • Provide (re)insurance solutions & broader risk management support to clients most complex risks and challenges.
  • Contribute to the development of annual business and marketing plans, building brand and product awareness through the broker market.
  • Expanding and enhancing the current product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector.
  • Interact and collaborate with all functional areas of the company including actuarial, contract wording, accounting, law and claims departments.


Knowledge, Skills, and Professional Experience
  • Considerable insurance/reinsurance underwriting experience; reinsurance, portfolio management or program underwriting experience.
  • Additional experience in international insurance and reinsurance outside of the UK/London/Lloyd's market is preferred.
  • Experience in the analysis and understanding of reinsurance contract terms and conditions.
  • Experience in the analysis of historical experience and profitability of large property programs.
  • Excellent marketing skills are mandatory to develop and maintain relationships with reinsurance intermediaries.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and report writing skills and the ability to flourish in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop proficiency with company specific electronic filing and automated processing systems to analyze, document, manage and business.
  • Ability to stay organized within a fast paced, collaborative, and high intensity work environment with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, as needed.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience underwriting profitable portfolios.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organization as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change, solutions driven.
