The position at a glance

Reporting to the Head of compensation & Benefits, the total compensation advisor organizes and performs all tasks involved in the administration of compensation.Participates to the design or implementation of compensation policies and programs. They are also proactively and effectively involved in Retirement and Benefits activities.

In detail

Support to the Compensation Function
  • Acts as an advisor to HR business partners and all managers in the organization in the interpretation and application of policies and programs related to working conditions;
  • Provides advice and recommendations on compensation for external and external candidates, international files (in collaboration with theinternational mobility group) and complex files;
  • Conducts compensation analysis to support effective compensation decisions and interpret results and trends, including optimization of human resources compensation processes

Job evaluation and various compensation projects
  • Manages the job evaluation process and oversee the classification of all management positions in the network;
  • Oversees the maintenance of the classification system and the job evaluation process;
  • Supports partners in preparing, reviewing and evaluating jobs to ensure understanding and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken;
  • Provides direct support for pay equity compliance;
  • Supporting the development and implementation of a job architecture;

Comparative pay analyses, surveys, annual salary review and bonus
  • Participates in compensation surveys to ensure adequate alignment with market practices and trends;
  • Conducts comparative market analyses annually to support the annual compensation budget;
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual compensation budget;
  • Works with HR business partners during the annual compensation process (salary revision and bonus);

Pension, Benefits and Wellness:
  • Participates in the design or implementation of benefit policies and programs.
  • Supports the design, implementation and administration of a wellness program in mental health, physical health and financial health.
  • Creates, coordinates and implements communication and education on retirement, social benefits and well-being
  • Promotes/communicates pension, benefits and welfare programs to employees through training, information material and intranet
  • Participates in the administration of pension plans (defined contribution and defined benefit pension plans), group insurance plans and all other benefit plans.


The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, mathematics, actuarial science or a related field
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in similar positions;
  • Project Management Experience: Planning, Organizing, Communication and Leadership Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships of trust between the various stakeholders;
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills at all hierarchical levels;
  • Bilingualism in English and French required
  • Leadership, dynamism, autonomy and attention to detail
  • Advanced expertise in Excel (Tables Pivot, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Analysis of various reports to reconcile data or solve problems
  • Ability to develop validation tools and reports to ensure data quality
