What you will be doing

The AVP, Annuity Valuation, AXIS Modeler will direct a small team and have a lead role in AXIS modeling for annuity valuation.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting with the implementation of annuity Long-Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI)
  • Developing and enhancing actuarial models using AXIS software to support annuity valuation under the LDTI framework
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams including Actuarial, Finance and IT to gather requirements and implement model changes
  • Performing model testing, valuation and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Analyzing and interpreting model results, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements as needed
  • Staying inform about industry developments and regulatory changes related to LDTI and incorporate updates into exiting models
  • Providing support during audits and regulatory examinations, addressing inquiries, and providing documentation as necessary

Requirements

What you need to be successful

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field
  • FSA or career ASA designation
  • At least eight years in actuarial roles is expected, including a minimum of two years of modeling with specific experience in variable annuity products.
  • Strong proficiency with AXIS modeling software with at least two years of experience
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience with building an fostering relationships
  • Highly organized and able to lead successful projects without supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quantify impacts and synthesize data from multiple sources and identify trends


Preferred:

  • Experience with US statutory and GAAP reporting
  • Knowledge of LDTI and its implications for annuity valuation
  • Demonstrated self-starter and effective individual contributor for non-routine projects
  • Ability to interact with and provide subject matter expertise to multiple functional areas
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
