The Structured Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division is looking for an Associate to join the CLO team in New York.

OUR IMPACT

The Structured Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division in New York is looking for an Associate with current investment banking (or related finance) experience to join the team.

The Structured Finance group works with clients to finance assets and manage risks within their overall business. Each structured finance desk offers specialized client coverage, product expertise, capital markets expertise, deal execution and dialogue with thought-leading investors. The desks include: Financial Institutions; Technology, Media, & Telecom, Consumer, Healthcare & Industrial; Trade, Transport & Infrastructure; Residential; Autos & Equipment; Consumer Credit and Structured Capital. The group's product suite includes collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), catastrophe bonds, consumer asset financings (e.g., auto loans, credit cards, mortgages), aircraft financings, film slate / media rights financings, and intellectual property monetization.

Given the interaction with groups across the firm globally, Structured Finance provides exposure to a breadth of activities and deal types. These include securitizations, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, asset sales and secured lending.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Role Responsibilities
  • Engage with CLO collateral managers, investors, rating agencies, and legal counsel to assist with origination, pricing, structuring and execution of Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) for the global CLO Primary desk within Structured Finance
  • Run rating agency stress tests / quantitative analyses and model CLO debt and equity cashflows to optimize capital structure and facilitate issuance of new CLO transactions, utilizing rating agency structuring tools, IntexCalc, Intex DealMaker, and Excel
  • Review and opine on legal documentation, respond to ad-hoc investor requests and resolve document stipulations between various stakeholders. Communicate with legal counsel to implement changes to key deal terms accurately and efficiently
  • Assist in internal credit and capital markets discussions to obtain approval for new CLO warehouse financing and structuring & placement mandates
  • Lead upkeep of CLO comparables database to communicate pricing information to team members and clients regularly


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, asset management and / or investment / actuarial consulting
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, preferred
  • Experience with MS Excel, building financial models, cashflow analysis
  • Understanding of rating agency methodology, comfort with legal documentation
  • Self-starter, resourceful, with an ability to complete tasks with limited oversight
  • Comfort operating in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to interact with a variety of groups and professionals across different disciplines
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, communication, and presentation skills

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
