Renaissance Benefits is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team!

At Renaissance, the Actuarial Analyst performs actuarial and statistical functions for product development and rating, external business, fee tables and schedules. They design, implement, and maintain various levels of application programs to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely collection and manipulation of data in support of actuarial services. Progress through the SOA exams is required and supported through our actuarial student program.

What will this role entail?
  • Compiles, develops, analyzes, and maintains data for forecasting, rate development, fee development and analysis, insurance bureau filing and budgeting.
  • Provides actuarial support to new product development. Assists underwriting with rating of non-standard benefits design.
  • Provides information to internal and external customers regarding claims liabilities and receivables, number of subscribers, group experience, and fee analysis. Executes and monitors periodic special reports and analyses to internal and external customers.
  • Assists sales and group administration in responding to major bids and proposals.
  • Provides actuarial and underwriting assistance to others, including total business rating analysis, development of manual rating formula, and requested rating factor calculations.
  • Completes specialized projects and assignments, as assigned.

What must I possess to qualify?
  • Position requires a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics or statistics, successful completion of one actuarial exam
  • Two years of actuarial or underwriting experience, which includes experience analysis and reporting.
  • Programming exposure/experience and the desire to attain ASA credential required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
  • This position requires intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced analytical skills; attention to detail; and proven ability to communicate results both orally and in writing.
