Job Description

The focus of this role is to take part in the management and monitoring of a strategic GMDB portfolio. The missions and tasks of the Life Reserving Actuary are to:

Perform reporting activity: Reserve valuation (LDTI, FR GAAP, BMA, Solvency II and VIF):
  • Support to the quarterly Closing activity as required
  • Conduct Economic assumptions preparation (economic scenario generator)
  • Produce Best Estimate Reserve
  • Prepare the analysis of variance
  • Produce sensitivities and SII shocks
  • Coordinate with other team members to facilitate the consolidation
  • Update and document the process/results
  • Contribute to cash flows production and analysis for group requests (ALM, liquidity stress tests...)

Perform off-cycle activities related to the GMDB model and assumptions:
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of the model
  • Support the compliance to the model governance framework (documentation, control framework, traceability and auditability, compliance with relevant regulations)
  • Produce Best Estimate Assumptions (experience analysis related to policyholders' behaviour, economic assumptions)

Other responsibilities:
  • Ad-hoc Projects as defined by the management.


Qualifications

Working experience
  • Qualified Actuary
  • 5+ years of experience in a Life reserving department, consultancy, audit
  • First experience with economic scenario generator
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (French is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a concentration in MS Excel, R
  • Experience in RAFM is a plus

Technical skills
  • Life reserving techniques (stochastic projections, VIF, BEL, biometrics, market risks)
  • Economic Reporting (Solvency 2, US GAAP, LDTI, FR GAAP is a plus)
  • Knowledge of market risks valuation
  • Modelling (knowledge of RAFM/R coding language would be an advantage)
  • Reinsurance knowledge is an asset

Personal and communication
  • Good communication (written and oral), time management, organizational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently in a dynamic and international company
  • Flexibility to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong work ethic, persistent, strive for improvements
