Job Description:

About the role

DXC manages workers' compensation and general insurance claims on behalf of regulators, self-insurers, and insureds in Australia.

In Victoria, DXC has a long history of managing workers' compensation claims as an agent for WorkSafe Victoria. In New South Wales, DXC was recently appointed as a Claims Service Provider by icare. We commenced managing NSW workers' compensation claims in September 2023. DXC also manages self-insurance and general insurance claims across various lines.

This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney. It is a permanent part-time role (2-3 days).

Our portfolio in Australia extends to Business Process Outsourcing operations, including payroll and mortgage processing.

In this role, you will work across the portfolio, emphasising our workers' compensation operations. Working with our analysts, business support and senior management teams and clients, you will
  • Create operational models related to market share, claims volumes and resourcing requirements.
  • Develop financial models to forecast remuneration and costs with scenario analysis.
  • Analyse the business performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Recommend programs to mitigate risks and maximise operational opportunities across the business.
  • Work across the business to identify and operationalise innovations across both technology and process.
  • Support business development and growth across the entire portfolio.

As a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will
  • Play a vital role in developing the organisational strategy - including growth and delivery models for the overall success of the account.
  • Display the organisational values and senior leadership behaviours required to reflect DXC's company values.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to:
  • Analyse historical data and emerging trends related to workplace injuries, accidents, and illnesses to assess risks accurately.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models related to pricing structures and financial forecasts for workers' compensation and general insurance.
  • Collaborate with claims professionals to evaluate and mitigate risks and optimise opportunities.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the potential impact of different variables on operational and financial models.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry benchmarks, and workers' compensation insurance best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients.

Ideally, the candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in actuarial analysis
  • Flexibility to work across teams and business lines.

Flexible working arrangements

In alignment with our commitment to fostering a flexible and dynamic work environment, we have adopted a hybrid working approach that acknowledges the importance of in-person collaboration while recognising that the determination of your work location will be based on a range of factors to ensure both individual preferences and operational requirements are met.

Recruitment fraud is a scheme in which fictitious job opportunities are offered to job seekers typically through online services, such as false websites, or through unsolicited emails claiming to be from the company. These emails may request recipients to provide personal information or to make payments as part of their illegitimate recruiting process. DXC does not make offers of employment via social media networks and DXC never asks for any money or payments from applicants at any point in the recruitment process, nor ask a job seeker to purchase IT or other equipment on our behalf.
