Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Group Risk Management team at our headquarters in Hannover/Germany, join us on a temporary basis for 12 months commencing as soon as possible as an Actuary / Mathematician Life and Health Reinsurance.

You can look forward to

You take on actuarial tasks relating to Solvency II. In this role you collaborate with our international locations and with other Hannover Re departments, such as the Reserving team or the market departments. You can look forward to the following tasks:
  • You deal with the maintenance, updating, validation and further refinement of the internal risk model, which stochastically maps and measures our risks
  • You draw up risk reporting and generate stress tests
  • You examine special reinsurance treaties or portfolios for life and health reinsurance
  • You analyse the data that we use
  • You contribute to various projects (e.g. in the context of the Solvency II review)


You come equipped with

  • Master's degree in (Business-) or (Financial-)Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a comparable academic discipline
  • Professional experience through initial internships is desirable
  • Basic actuarial know-how and a basic understanding of the application of Solvency II
  • Interest in training as a certified actuary (DAV)
  • Independent user skills in German (level B2) and proficient user skills in English (level C1)
  • Willingness to go on occasional worldwide business trips
  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical mindset
  • Team spirit and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
