What you will be doing

The Systems Analyst II will support the delivery of technical solutions including actuarial data processing/management, process automation, SQL database management, and consolidated reporting.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Developing and maintaining automated processes and SQL procedures
  • Working with actuaries to identify and resolve production errors as well as perform ad-hoc analysis
  • Using SQL and other programming languages to navigate, perform calculations, analyze and manipulate data
  • Creating batch jobs to extract data from various sources, transform, and load data to various destinations
  • Developing ad hoc and quarterly excel spreadsheets using advanced functions and VBA macros
  • Producing processes, data analytics and reports to support business decisions
  • Acquire actuarial, accounting and product knowledge.

Requirements

What you need to be successful

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in information systems, business analytics, or similar field
  • Experience in writing SQL queries
  • Knowledge of relational database systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new concepts
  • Drive to improve existing processes and build new ones


Preferred:

  • Experience with a source control system, such as Git
  • Experience with Visual Studio, IBM DataStage or similar ETL tool
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Windows batch programming
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Two to three years of experience in similar role
