Director - Actuarial Analytics Product Leader

The Role
Moody's RMS is looking for a Product Manager to be part of its Financial Modeling Product Management team to drive consistency and connectedness of the models and applications on the Intelligent Risk Platform. This cloud-native ecosystem of persona-focused applications is built on shared data and analytical engines and supports workflows across the entire risk transfer chain by empowering cat modelers, risk analysts, primary underwriters, treaty underwriters, portfolio managers, and ILS investors.

You will collaborate across a wide range of Moody's RMS teams to ensure the success of multiple products and initiatives. You will engage with clients and prospects to help understand and translate the market needs in the space of financial modeling and analytics into product requirements and software development specifications.

The ideal candidate for this position will be hands-on, comfortable working with highly technical, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and will be able to articulate and comprehend highly technical topics in a client facing position. Key Responsibilities
  • Understand risk management needs across the various players in the property and casualty industry and how those needs are informed or solved by the use of catastrophe models
  • Discover and prioritize market requirements of the financial model by engaging directly with clients to understand their business objectives and cat modeling data needs
  • Be knowledgeable across the full suite of Moody's RMS model, data and application solutions and how they work together on the platform
  • Present to and engage in business and technical discussions with RMS clients and prospects regarding financial model functionality and methodology within various Moody's RMS applications
  • Problem solve to develop solutions, including product-based solutions, to client inquiries that require cat modeling and actuarial subject matter expertise
  • Enable the sales team and support the sales cycle while educating other colleagues and stakeholders who support our client-base
  • Coordinate with various other internal teams including marketing, consulting, support, software, and documentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in one of the following disciplines or a related field: natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or actuarial science
  • 10+ years of experience in the global (re)insurance industry required
  • 5+ actuarial exams or equivalent, relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience working with catastrophe models required. Knowledge of Moody's RMS products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry data sources
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Fast learner that can quickly synthesize ideas, information, and options into a
    strategy, plan, or response and effectively communicate it.
  • Some programming experience in languages such as SQL, R, or Python is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple engineering and field groups
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies
  • Able and available for business travel (both international and domestic) for client and internal meetings is required

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $171,200.00 to $248,150.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody's also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
