BH GUARD currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Product and Underwriting Portfolio Manager over Small Commercial package to guide our next stage of growth at Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Companies. The position can be located in either Wilkes-Barre, PA, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Parsippany, NJ.

The Product and Underwriting Portfolio Manager will collaborate closely with the line of business leader, playing a pivotal role in documenting and versioning strategies. This role requires a strong ability to contribute date-driven and experience -driven ideas, actively supporting the execution of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation of vendors and their contracts. Owns collaboration with legal to drive contract terms and conditions. Owns and creates any SOWs.
  • Owns collaboration with the line of business leader to build business cases and cost benefit analysis to support third party enrichment concepts.
  • Owns, manages and maintains business backlog, RAID logs, resource plans, including best practices for communicating with business systems.
  • Lead meetings and workshops with cross-functional team members; develop strategies to enhance cross-functional collaboration.
  • Responsible for facilitating communication and influencing outcomes across underwriting, claims, actuarial, analytics, product development, operations, et al.
  • Responsible from project initiation phase to completion; responsible for establishing key metrics, monitoring execution, and reporting on results.
  • Proactively step in to address critical needs as they arise throughout the project's lifecycle.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with concentration in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences
  • 5 + years of Project Manager, Product Owner or Delivery experience.
  • Must exhibit expertise in industry trends, state regulations, and compliance processes.
  • Must promote and exemplify data driven decision-making.
  • Promotes and exemplifies a culture of collaboration, including stakeholders at various levels and in various departments.


Salary Range

$110,000.00-$200,000.00 USD

The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3-4 days per week and also be available for travel as required.

The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
