Overview of Position

As a member of the Product Configuration team, you will play a critical role in product delivery and system capability for Assurant's Global Automotive partners.

The Product Configuration Assistant will assist in the development and maintenance of the insurance rating, system control, financial mapping and reporting support tables on all Underwriting Business systems. The position helps configure products, identifies and documents all unexpected results and works with other team members to propose solutions to management. The Product Configuration Assistant will assist in the review of current business processes to determine if they are effective and efficient in supporting business objectives. This role possesses basic product and system knowledge that helps support product delivery and future new product concepts and product implementation to the systems. This position reports to the Supervisor, Product Configuration.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
  • Help deploy products, which includes but not limited to: product rate files, vehicle class, eligibility constraints, accounting distribution(s), line of business reporting, rate calculation methods and form setup, as directed
  • Learn how to interpret, extract & reconcile data from production tables that will be used to support Underwriting and Actuarial reviews, as well as State DOI audits/compliance
  • Implement and maintain products on application and legacy systems
  • Ensure products adhere to product specification as directed by manager
  • Learn process and how to create test cases, perform testing and document results
  • Provide support analyzing basic policy and rating issues; suggest solutions
  • Learn & understand current business processes
  • Assist in the investigation, correction, and mitigation of errors found in tables
  • Help support UAT during system modifications and enhancements
  • Manage and document assigned projects and maintain current project list that includes status, milestones & deadlines, accessible to manager
  • Perform all other duties and participates in special projects assigned


What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or Statistics
  • 2 years or less of overall professional experience
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint


What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
  • Proficiency with SQL and Python
  • Basic understanding of warranty or insurance product knowledge/terminology
  • Basic understanding of database theory and experience working with databases
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-driven with a desire to successfully take on new challenges and additional responsibilities
  • Can work on multiple projects with varying deadlines and prioritizes
  • Asks questions to clarify and seeks out information
  • Understands how to accurately produce reports, memorandums, and other communications needed for internal and external requests by following specifications in place


Pay Range:
$47,100.00 - $77,700.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
