Job Description

We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic, fast growing APAC Reserving team. The role will be based in our Singapore office. The job holder will be a key contributor to different reserving related activities across the APAC L&H business.

About the team:

The direct team is made up of 12 employees based between the Singapore and Hong Kong Offices and is part of a larger global team based in the main offices internationally.

Key Skills:
  • Working as part of the reserving team in performing actuarial valuation of APAC L&H business under various bases (including USGAAP, Solvency II, IFRS17, Local Statutory)
  • Preparing the quarterly APAC result review and reporting
  • Maintaining documentation of methodologies, processes, procedures, controls and results
  • Setting up and maintaining valuation models for responsible LOBs
  • Supporting the continue enhancement in processes and controls
  • Assisting the Experience Analysis Actuary in performing experience studies to review key actuarial assumptions.
  • Developing technical knowledge (product, assumptions, regulation, industry trends) and becoming an expert within the Reserving team
  • Providing valuation insights of the industry to various teams (e.g. client partners, claims manager)
  • Working with the Operation team to define data requirements
  • Supporting the APAC Chief Actuary in ad-hoc projects


Qualifications

You should be unafraid of challenges and have a desire to learn. You wish to work in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment with colleagues possessing a wide and varied range of experiences.

Moreover, you should have the following background, skills and mindset:
  • Making significant progress in earning your actuarial accreditation
  • 1-3 years' of actuarial experience in Life (re)insurance; fresh graduate with internship is also considered
  • Knowledge of AXIS would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand life insurance industry would be an advantage
  • Organized, able to work in a matrix structure
  • Attention to details
  • High motivation, team-orientation
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
