The Actuarial Manager will be responsible for the following: Develop and maintain actuarial reserving processes to comply with regulatory requirements and best practices. Development and review of monitoring processes to support the reserving function. Collaborating with underwriting, finance and claims to gather relevant insights for reserving. Maintain loss projection models for premium liabilities. Responsible for preparing regulatory reporting deliverables. Engaging with external auditors and reviewing actuaries. Supporting the Finance team to report insurance liabilities under Australian and US GAAP. Maintaining suitable financial projections for the business. Supporting capital management processes for the ICAAP. Undertaking ad hoc investigations into specific areas or topics of interest where actuarial advice is to be provided. Assisting with the continued evolution of business processes. Foster development of junior members of the actuarial team. #Mortgage JOB SPECIFICATIONS Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of actuarial valuation techniques and processes, with a view on best practices. Strong technical and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with SAS, Snowflake, Python or R is preferred. Robust inter-personal skills and willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team. Working knowledge of Australian GAAP accounting for insurance and reinsurance. Orientation towards results, curiosity, integrity, and self-direction. Education & Experience: Already, or 1 or two subjects away from becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent). 5+ years of prior experience working in general insurance (with significant experience in valuations) strongly preferred Experience in LMI would be highly regarded but is not essential.
