This role is based in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Gibraltar Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Gibraltar Re) and Lotus Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Lotus Re) are looking to fill a newly created Manager, Investment Reporting role.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the quarterly close process for Gibraltar Re and Lotus Re's investment portfolio, including the preparation of investment results review packages for PFI consolidated and Bermuda standalone reporting;
  • Support and delivery of quarterly and annual investment reporting requirements for Bermuda solvency capital return/regulatory reporting requirements for Gibraltar Re and Lotus Re;
  • Support various capital management projects and initiatives, including preparation of Investment related accounting policy documentation, technical accounting initiatives and pronouncements, fund structures, and internal/external transactions;
  • Working closely with CIO and PGIM Investment Ops to manage the quarterly close process and annual U.S GAAP and Bermuda Statutory audit requirements;
  • Manage the forecasting process for Gibraltar Re and Lotus Re, providing detailed insight into projected earnings and potential initiatives to enhance investment efficiency
  • Actively working with corporate centers and other internal parties, including Corporate Controllers, Actuarial, FSS, CIO, PGIM Investment Ops, Japan Investment team, Risk Management, internal and external auditors, Treasurers and Asset & Liability Management;


Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or Business- related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of investment accounting and financial reporting experience, utilizing US GAAP
  • Recognized Accounting designation CPA or equivalent, advanced degree or designation (e.g., CFA) required;
  • Good understanding and relevant experience with life (re) insurance accounting and actuarial concepts;
  • Prior experience in Bermuda and familiarity with Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement is a strong plus
  • Solvency II frameworks as it applies to long-term reinsurance operations;
  • Experience with acquisitions/dispositions and knowledge of US GAAP purchase accounting beneficial;
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance reporting and regulatory frameworks, including Solvency II and EBS is a strong plus;
  • Proven ability to interpret financial information, identify key issues based on this information and propose efficient, robust and effective processes, controls and measures to address them
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective professional relationships at all levels throughout the organization, as well as internal stakeholders' management, preferably within a global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently, as well as part of a team,, problem solve and apply sound judgement and pragmatism in order to achieve business aims
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills with the ability to identify interrelationships among components of financial information and to understand and document key drivers of earnings and significant financial trends;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to break down complex financial or actuarial concepts and communicate them to all levels of management;
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required during peak reporting periods.
