Job Opportunity:

BHSI has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Claims Examiner who will independently handle a diverse mix of matters consisting of Cyber/Media/Tech/MPL claims underwritten out of the Executive and Professional Liability unit. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our growing team in Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, or any BHSI office location. Candidate must have strong technical and analytic skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, as this role will have a high level of interaction with customers, brokers, outside counsel (defense and coverage), mediators, underwriters, actuaries and senior management.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Handling a pending of primary and excess claims under Cyber, Tech E&O, Media, and Professional Liability coverage.
  • Providing outstanding customer service.
  • Engaging and collaborating with internal and external customers including, but not limited to, insureds, brokers, Claims Department teammates, underwriters and actuaries.
  • Analyzing coverage and drafting coverage position letters.
  • Working closely with coverage and /or litigation counsel.
  • Evaluating loss information and providing loss exposure assessments.
  • Setting file reserves within financial authority.
  • Making claim file reserve recommendations to next level management.
  • Documenting claim files with timely and comprehensive file notes.
  • Preparing Large Loss or other claim related reports for management.
  • Traveling to conferences, mediations, depositions, claims specific meetings, trials, and industry events.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 3-4 years substantive claims handling experience in cyber and/or professional liability lines or similar experience at a law firm.
  • J.D. required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to execute all aspects of job with a specific emphasis on customer service.
  • Active adjuster licenses in multiple/ key states seen as a plus (not a requirement).
