Job Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Location: This role could be based in either our Wythall or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join ourWith-Profits Asset Liability Management team.

The role

The With-Profits Asset Liability Management Team are responsible for the managing the market risk within the Phoenix Group's With-Profits funds. This involves hedging of interest rate risk , equity risk and cashflow matching. Other tasks include rebalancing asset and liability portfolios and managing market risk appetite. The role is technically challenging and provides opportunities for presenting to senior stakeholders.

Day to day activities will include, Providing input into the development of financial processes to ensure the production of the required outputs is in an efficient manner as possible, prepared to relevant reporting standards. You will also have the opportunity to undertake project work to support the development of robust and effective financial reporting. You will also support wider Actuarial stakeholders and Senior Actuaries to Influence decisions across Phoenix Group where priorities and interests are often conflicting.

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will be a part qualified actuary (typically those who have passed the CM, CB, CS and CP exams) with a background in ALM, Reporting or With-Profits Management. You will be keen keen to learn and know more about market risk capital and hedging techniques. The decisions made within the team have a real world impact on the balance sheet and the ideal candidate needs to be diligent, quick at picking up new tasks and comfortable asking questions.
