What is the Opportunity?
The Analyst, Pensions & Benefits will support the management, design, and governance oversight of RBC's international pensions, savings, and benefits programs in the British Isles, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The Analyst will partner with several stakeholders to support the operation of programs, ensuring legislative compliance as well as managing the policies and processes of these programs for affordability and long-term financial sustainability. In addition, the role will support the financial management, reporting and analytics, vendor management, and communication of various programs.

Please note this is a 12-month contract opportunity with the potential to become permanent.

What will you do?
  • Support the implementation, execution and monitoring of approved strategy and program changes, ensuring compliance with legislation and partnering with relevant stakeholders
  • Utilize data to develop models/reports that allow a greater understanding of the costs, benefits, risks and opportunities inherent in RBC's international pension, savings and benefit programs.
  • Help manage the governance process for RBC's international pensions & benefits programs, including preparation of material for reporting to pension committees, preparation of recommendations for contract renewals, support plan redesigns and program reviews
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed program / plan changes
  • Support in developing and maintaining metrics, analytics and reporting data (i.e. spend, contract data, etc.) for programs under management
  • Partner with various groups for resolutions of employee issues and escalations
  • Assist with communications to employees to enhance understanding of the retirement and savings programs
  • Support managers in ensuring that the administration, documentation and member communication comply with legislative and regulatory requirements, and the RBC Enterprise Supplier Risk Management Policy
  • Assist with administration and operations of RBC's international pensions, savings & benefits programs
  • Support various Managers with relationships with third-party vendors, including vendor onboarding/reviews (including RFP/RFI process) and invoice processing
  • Assist with the execution of contract renewals
  • Participate in initiatives related to Supplier Risk Management (i.e. SRMA, Supplier Registration, SLA reviews)
  • Assist with maintenance and update of Global Mobility matrix including requests from Global Mobility COE and Global Mobility Services


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Analysis, Commerce, or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of pensions & benefits experience in a similar role with a large complex organization, in professional centre environment, or consulting background
  • Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel
  • Strong ability to effectively manage competing demands and priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to distill complex information


Nice-to-haves:
  • Prior knowledge of international pension and benefit regulatory requirements is not required but considered an asset.
  • Experience participating in projects with solution focused outcomes
  • A team player and strong self-starter and self-learner
