Annuity Pricing Analyst

Fixed Annuity Pricing Team

Full-Time,

Boston, MA or Springfield, MA

The Opportunity

As a member of the Fixed Annuity Pricing team, you will help support the pricing of our $10B+ fixed annuity business. You will work in a collaborative environment partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders representing both the sales and risk management sides of the business.

The Team

The Annuity Pricing Team is a motivated group focused on maintaining our position as a market leader in the annuity space. In this role you will interact mainly with the Annuity product team, distribution (Career Agency and third party), and corporate oversight teams to help us balance competitiveness and profitability.

The Impact

Your work will directly contribute to the profit and topline goals of the enterprise for the benefit of MassMutual's participating policyholders. Specific responsibilities across the Fixed Annuity products will include:

  • Support the pricing of new and existing fixed annuity products
  • Take ownership of rate setting responsibilities including quantifying profitability, monitoring competitive position, assessing reinsurance impact, and implementing new rates
  • Evaluate and approve home office exceptions for large annuity contracts
  • Partner with Investment Management and the ALM team to ensure business is appropriately hedged
  • Participate in the pricing review and approval process with both Corporate Actuarial and Product
  • Support initiatives related to ongoing business strategy and growth


The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistic, Mathematics or Related field
  • 3+ years of actuarial, financial, or risk management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Powerpoint


The Ideal Qualifications
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with VBA
  • Experience in Prophet, SQL, & Alteryx
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with an ability to convey technical ideas to non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable dealing with both complexity and ambiguity, with ability to explore multiple solutions to a problem
  • Demonstrated initiative and has a sense of urgency; takes ownership and is results-oriented in a fast-paced work environment
  • Detail-oriented with analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of fixed annuity products a plus

$97,600.00-$128,100.00
