Manage the Economic Capital Reporting team to produce and communicate broad range of actuarial valuation results, analysis, stress testing and business plans under Group Internal Economic Capital Assessment (GIECA) basis to Senior Management. GIECA basis is one of the regulatory requirement by IA which is effective since YE2021 and is applicable to holding company registered in Hong Kong.

Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to maintain healthy financial position of the company and identify actions to enhance the solvency position of the company.

Job Descriptions:

  • Manage the Economic Capital Reporting team to produce and communicate high quality regular result including coverage ratio (available economic capital / ECR), P&L attribution and economic capital requirement. Actively involved in methodology discussion with GHO.
  • Manage the production of the business plan, support GHO for lite model calibration/validation, and communicate results to senior management with detailed and robust analyses highlighting the key drivers of the results. Identity actions to enhance the solvency position of the company.
  • Manage the processes and controls of the Economic Capital Reporting team to ensure high quality results and analysis are produced as efficiently and effectively as possible. Work with both internal and external auditors to ensure the robustness of processes and controls.
  • Support ad-hoc request from Group's requirement.
  • People Management: Provide guidance, training and supervision to the junior team members. Ensure the junior team members perform tasks in line with requirements and the produced results are accurate with appropriate levels of checking.


Job Requirements:

  • University degree holder majoring in a numerical subject (e.g. Actuarial Science, Mathematics).
  • Associate of Society of Actuaries, or other equivalent actuarial bodies.
  • A minimum of 4.5 years relevant working experience is required.
  • Solid knowledge in actuarial concepts, solvency II / Economic Capital and insurance regulatory requirements in Hong Kong.
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible, adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to build collaborative working relationship with different stakeholders.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Prophet modelling experience and good programming knowledge is a plus.
