As we embark on new and exciting projects for the year ahead, we are currently hiring a Finance Transformation Analyst to join our team. Reporting to our Head of Finance & Actuarial Transformation, you will support the activities of a number of Munich Re Brands. (MRSL, MRSG,RIBL,MRSIUK and Digital Partners)

The Team

The Finance and Actuarial Transformation Team is responsible for spearheading initiatives that drive the evolution of the Finance and Actuarial departments into a data-driven organization that leverages cutting-edge technology, streamlines processes, and enhances collaboration with business stakeholders to support the sustainable and profitable growth of Munich Re's Global Specialty Insurance division, specifically the Global Market business.

In this critical role, you will play a vital role in transforming the Finance function, encompassing Financial Operations, Accounting, and Regulatory Reporting. You will work closely with Finance teams to identify areas of improvement, develop compelling business cases, document requirements, and collaborate on solution design and testing. Additionally, you will be instrumental in transitioning solutions into business-as-usual processes, ensuring seamless integration and ongoing success.

Responsibilities

  1. Identify and understand issues that require resolution or opportunities for enhancement, and present these in a clear and concise manner to the relevant stakeholders for consideration.
  2. Collaborate with the Finance Transformation Manager to develop business cases that secure the necessary investment and resources for project implementation.
  3. Document business requirements in a clear, concise, and jargon-free manner to ensure that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the project's objectives and scope.
  4. Participate in the project, which includes:
    1. Brainstorming and developing solutions to address the identified issues or opportunities.
    2. Evaluating and scoring the proposed solutions to determine the most effective approach.
    3. Building or partnering with specialists to develop the chosen solution.
    4. Testing and documenting the solution to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability.
    5. Drafting process/guidance notes to facilitate the transition of the solution from the project phase to Business As Usual (BAU).
  5. Contribute to post-project debriefs to assess project outcomes, identify lessons learned, and suggest areas for improvement.
  6. Communicate changes to senior stakeholders in simple, clear business language to ensure that they are informed and engaged throughout the project.
  7. Conduct research on market best practices to stay abreast of industry trends, processes, technologies, and innovations (such as Generative AI, Munich Systems, etc.) that could enhance the organization's operations and performance.

You are required to comply with the PRA and FCA conduct rules:

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge
  1. Extensive understanding of financial and accounting principles under UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
  2. In-depth experience in the general specialty non-life insurance sector.
  3. Familiarity with Lloyds Syndicate Reporting.
  4. Familiarity with industry best practices and practical approaches to implementation.


Skills
