This position is located in the Office of Actuarial and Market Services.

What You Will Do:
As a Program Assistant (Rates and Forms Intern) you will work with individuals within the Office of Actuarial and Market Services. The guidelines and expectations for projects will be established when they are assigned. This position will require you to work in a high paced, team environment with minimal supervision. All work is primarily performed in an office setting. Must have the ability to work with others and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Excellent computer skills are required, including MS Office programs.

Job Duties:

  • Review various types of insurance filings to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, following all internal filing review policies and procedures, while maintaining appropriate documentation and checklists.
  • Correspond with insurers regarding product filings as required to ensure compliance.
  • Study, research complex issues including state law, state regulations, etc. Investigate and determine if company is in compliance with state laws, rules, regulations.
  • Assist Unit Managers, Department Actuaries and other analysts as necessary.
  • Assist members of the Department and the insurance industry with questions about filing procedures, insurance statutes, regulations, bulletins and regulatory positions.
  • Assists with data extraction and analysis for various ad hoc reports.
  • Work on various projects and perform other duties as needed.


Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full time at an accredited university/college in a Business, Economics, Mathematics, Insurance/Risk Management, or related degree program.
  • Must have the ability to work with others and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be seeking an Internship for college credit at an accredited university /college or technical college.


Additional Comments

The rate of pay for this position is $12.00 - $17.00 per hour based on educational and work
experience.
