Job Summary:

Senior Brokers lead revenue generation at Lockton Re through the placing of reinsurance contracts. Senior Brokers oversee multiple facets of reinsurance broking including developing client relationships, managing junior staff, developing new business and executing on existing renewals.

Senior Broker responsibilities

  • Drive production efforts, both new from existing and "new new"
  • Develop expertise in a specific line of business or segment of focus
  • Maintain functional knowledge of products and services that Lockton offers (both insurance and reinsurance)
  • Exhibit thorough understanding of reinsurance pricing methodologies and be able to advise accordingly, depending upon client objectives
  • Derive and implement client service plans, and build an annual timetable of visits to develop relationships and review our performance
  • Cultivate understanding of and ability to coordinate with actuarial, catastrophe modeling, legal counsel/contract advisory, market security, rating agency advisory, client service and any other disciplines within Lockton Re to seamlessly deliver all that Lockton Re has to offer to clients
  • Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for client and prospect relationship management from the executive team, in whole or in part
  • Focus on innovation with a view to constantly improve our process and efficiency


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent business to business or insurance sales experience required. Bachelors or graduate degree in business-related field preferred
  • Demonstrated successful track record evidencing exceptional levels of sales achievement.
  • Professional accomplishments must demonstrate capability and an affinity for revenue generating sales activities, along with leadership, building customer relationships and successfully managing the business development process
  • Excellent market research, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required
  • Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including research and investigation and provide solutions to standard and non-standard issues
  • Understanding of key factors/differentiators that prospective clients seek from their broker partner
