Description

Position Summary:

This position will work under the direction of the Director of Product Management and spend a majority of the time working on policy forms and endorsements and collecting and analyzing statistical, financial, and competitive data to assist in pricing, underwriting and distribution decisions.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist with rate, rule and form filing projects for all company programs.
  • Prepare and update program manuals and policy forms/endorsements.
  • Assist with compliance-related activities (monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory and service bureau submissions; data call submissions; audit examinations).
  • Prepare and distribute to management weekly/monthly reports related to key growth metrics.
  • Update internal excel rating worksheets as needed with any approved changes.
  • Track and monitor competitor rate, rule and form filings and communicate key changes to management.
  • Assist with the analysis and implementation of changes to existing insurance products, as well as the development of new products.
  • Assist in identifying and developing business requirements and providing insight and expertise from an operational and compliance perspective.
  • Provide detailed data files required for rate filings, including premium and loss files.
  • Perform extensive product reviews that require analysis of trends, factors, issues, competitive analysis, and related rate level indications.
  • Communicate and collaborate with business partners in other functional areas including operations, underwriting, sales, claims, accounting and marketing.
  • Assist with analysis of company rates and premiums to key competitors.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a major in business administration, risk management, actuarial science, or a related analytics-oriented discipline.
  • 1-3 years experience in an insurance discipline. Experience in data analytics a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The use and application of data analysis software (e.g., SQL) a plus.
  • Insurance designations desirable.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Insurance industry knowledge and experience, preferably in homeowners' insurance
