About the Role

Uber is home to one of the largest and most complex insurance programs in the world. This is an excellent opportunity for an intellectually curious, experienced actuarial analyst to gain valuable non-traditional actuarial experience and see the entire insurance process, from beginning to end, all while working in one of Uber's most critical divisions. What You'll Do

- Deploy traditional and non-traditional actuarial skills and training in new and innovative ways to support Uber's Commercial Auto, General Liability, and other coverages through the estimation of unpaid claims liability and prospective loss costs
- Contribute to both the Corporate Pricing and Quarterly Reserving Processes, including data creation and validation, analysis and selections, internal and external communication, as well as financial implementation
- Build detailed claims analysis and data visualization tools to inform actuarial selections and to identify operational opportunities in Uber's business, litigation, and claims functions
- Work closely with various parties, including insurance finance, litigation, data science, claims analytics, and your actuarial peers in the development of analytical models and deliverables
- Communicate/present analysis findings to actuarial management

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ CAS Exams and a minimum of 3 years of Property & Casualty (P&C) actuarial experience
- BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent Excel skills
- ACAS or FCAS designation
- Personal or commercial auto insurance experience a plus
- Prior reserving, large account pricing, or reinsurance experience preferred
- Strong with SQL, experience with R or Python
- Balance attention to detail with swift and practical execution
- Great communication and organization skills, ability to multitask and be a team player
- Enthusiasm about Uber!
