Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, your role will be to :
  • Analyze and evaluate acquisition files, in collaboration with the company's various departments;
  • Understand the business sector and formulate the business model of target companies in order to identify their strategic value for Industrial Alliance;
  • Conduct rigorous financial analyses of acquisition opportunities;
  • Prepare presentations of acquisition opportunities to the company's Board of Directors;
  • Coordinate due diligence reviews of acquisition opportunities;
  • Work with various experts (lawyers, tax specialists, accountants, partners and other parties to transactions) to bring acquisition opportunities to a successful conclusion;
  • Participate in the transaction negotiation process and follow-up on completed transactions;
  • Draft confidentiality agreements and letters of intent;
  • Review draft purchase/sale agreements;
  • Prepare preliminary integration plans to ensure knowledge transfer of files to the integration manager.
  • Participate in insurance-related acquisitions in Canada and the United States.
  • Ensure sound management of the various financial models used to analyze and evaluate acquisition files.
  • Ensure effective governance of our financial models

Profile required:
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science and at least 8 to 10 years' relevant experience
  • FCIA or FSA
  • Experience and expertise in financial analysis and modeling
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions an asset
  • Knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry under IFRS 17 an asset
  • Excellent French and English language skills, both oral and written, due to frequent interaction with English and French-speaking partners across Canada.
  • Proficiency in Windows environment
