The opportunity

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Manager, Policy and Analysis to join the Group Treasury team. In this role you will provide strategic direction across the Group and drive further development of the Group's Capital and Liquidity Risk Management Frameworks within QBE's Group Treasury function.

Your new role

As the Senior Manager, Policy and Analysis you will develop, coordinate, and maintain policies and frameworks that relate to capital and liquidity risk management, including: The Group's ICAAP and the Group's Liquidity Risk Management Framework.

With a QBE enterprise-wide mindset, you will also be responsible for driving consistency of approach across the QBE Group and its Divisions. Your key stakeholders include the finance and risk teams of the Group and each Division, as well as their Executive Committees.

Other key responsibilities will include:
  • The Group's ICAAP Report and ICAAP Summary Statement, and associated policies and standards relating to capital adequacy and capital management
  • Contributing to the development of the Group's Recovery, Exit and Resolution Planning needs
  • Leading the development of procedures, analysis and documentation supporting liquidity risk management
  • Leading stress testing and scenario analysis relating to capital and liquidity risk
  • Ongoing review and development of risk appetite statements relating to capital and liquidity risk
  • Monitoring and reporting to management on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Early Warning Indicators (EWIs)


About you

To be successful you will have a strong understanding of APRA regulatory standards for a general insurer, the ICAAP, and liquidity risk. You will have proven experience within the Finance, Actuarial or Risk function within the Insurance industry. You will also have the following skills and/or knowledge:
  • Financial risk management, and the balance sheet and associated risks for a general insurer
  • Very high standards for report writing, and the ability to deliver and present material effectively at an Executive level
  • Very strong and effective stakeholder management
  • Actuarial analysis and its applications within disciplines including reserving or capital
  • Stress testing and scenario analysis, and the associated analytical and modelling requirements
  • Enterprise risk-management frameworks and risk appetite statements
  • Demonstrable rigor and attention to detail and validation and challenge of existing processes
