Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Advanced Solutions team at our headquarters in Hannover/Germany, join us on a permanent basis commencing at the earliest possible date as a Business Mathematician Underwriting.

You can look forward to

After thorough onboarding you service our worldwide customers, for whom we provide pioneering solutions in the form of tailor-made reinsurance products. You will be managing the entire reinsurance placement from the sourcing of business through the pricing process to the final decision stage.
  • Business Sourcing and Assessment: You are sourcing, accepting and evaluating requests for structured reinsurance concepts and are subsequently creating and negotiating tailor-made solutions for insurance customers.
  • Contract Management: You are managing and renewing existing reinsurance contracts and are planning, steering, controlling and coordinating business data in accordance with defined quality standards.
  • Portfolio Analysis: You are drawing up actuarial analyses and projections to manage the profitability of your reinsurance contracts.
  • Business Relationship Management: You are cultivating contacts with existing as well as new business partners of our company (customers and brokers) and meet them personally on a regular basis either during your business travels or their visits to our offices.
  • Collaboration: You are cooperating with colleagues in the traditional underwriting departments and our local offices, as well as with our different service departments (e.g. actuarial, accounting, natural catastrophe modelling).


You come equipped with

  • Master's degree in business or financial mathematics
  • Interest in actuarial issues
  • Knowledge in the preparation of balance sheet analyses and in the application of accounting, regulatory and tax guidelines and processes
  • Practical experience, for example through internships or working student activities, in the insurance or financial sector is advantageous
  • High degree of independence and flexibility
  • English at a business fluent level (at least C1) and German at a conversational level (at least B2)
  • Further foreign language skills are advantageous
  • Willingness to travel worldwide, approx. five to six times a year
