How does this role contribute to our collective success?
You will join the Actuarial Team at AXIS Re Europe in Zurich where you will be supporting the pricing of International A&H treaty business. In this role, you will work closely with our underwriters to project the results for individual trading relationships. In addition, you will be expected to have in depth knowledge about industry trends and be capable of incorporating this into your individual treaty analysis and pricing work.

What will you do in this role?

  • Collect and validate data from clients to input and process it with AXIS pricing tools.
  • Liaise with underwriting to properly understand and reflect the risk.
  • Perform loss modelling of international treaty business for the European Accident & Health Division.
  • Use actuarial methods to estimate expected losses, cash flows, risk aggregations and advise management on technical pricing, and ensure robust economic and actuarial evaluation of commercial agreements.
  • Provide actuarial input into portfolio monitoring, business planning, and projections.
  • Collect market parameters and perform analysis to uncover trends and correlations.
  • Support development and maintenance of data analytics tools and models.
  • Participate in cross functional teams and projects and provide best actuarial practices.
  • May participate in client and broker visits.

About You:

What you need to have:
Technical Skills:
  • University degree or equivalent within Actuarial Science or similar technical field.
  • Interest in qualifying as a member of an actuarial society.
  • Expert level user of MS Office.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language, such as VBA, C#, R, or SQL.
  • Fluent in English a must.

  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.

What we prefer you to have:
  • Experience preferably in a pricing department at an Insurance or Reinsurance company - at least 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
  • German or French desirable.


Role Factors:

In this role, you will typically be required to:
  • Be in the office 3 days per week.
  • Some travel may be required.
