Actuarial Co-op Program 2024

Actuarial Co-op students will gain exposure to key actuarial disciplines including pricing, valuation, financial modeling, risk management, asset liability management and group actuarial. You will have the opportunity to develop important technical and business skills while working alongside industry-respected actuaries and other professionals in a supportive learning environment.

The program offers competitive salary with exam study support and increases. Co-op students are invited to participate in regular Actuarial Development Program activities such as the mentorship program, Lunch and Learns and social events. Additionally, co-op students will also be invited to an orientation session as well as the popular Co-op Case Study.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of SOA exams and relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively present issues, options and recommendations to both actuarial and non-actuarial audiences.
  • Desire to set and exceed challenging goals with high energy and a drive for superior results.
  • Working knowledge of Excel is required; experience with AXIS is an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities in prior roles and/or extracurricular activities.


The Student Experience
  • Work alongside actuarial professionals, gaining insights into industry standards and practices while picking up professional effectiveness habits
  • Build a professional network in one of the largest actuarial employers in North America
  • Attend presentations from guest speakers on a variety of topics (such as AXIS modelling, actuarial functions, and exam study tips)
