Description

Homesite is seeking an analytical and technically savvy Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Homesite reserving team. This is a highly visible role with regular interaction with senior leaders. Key focuses include contributing to the monthly and quarterly reserving process as well as frequent collaboration with Claims and Finance.

The successful candidate has excellent technical skills and is a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a demonstrated interest in learning. This person will also need to be a self-motivated, high-energy individual who can easily function in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. They must be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel and committed to meeting deadlines, including some with short time frames.

Position Compensation Range:
$86,000.00 - $141,000.00

Primary Accountabilities,

Reserve Analysis
  • Perform and enhance quarterly and monthly reserve analyses for Homeowners line and communicate results to leadership.
  • Collaborate with business partners in Claims, Reserving, and Product to understand impact from internal and external factors on reserves, loss development patterns, and trends.
  • Participate in the reserving peer review process.
  • Support technical and data initiatives to improve the reserving process.
  • Address ad hoc reserving analyses and research as requested.


Financial Reporting
  • Support work related to Statements of Actuarial Opinion (SAO), Summaries of Actuarial Opinion (AOS), Quarterly Reserve Reports, and Schedule P
  • Support reserving function with any audit related work in an effective and timely manner.


Analytics Support
  • Provides analytic services related to the Actuarial functions within the division.
  • Sources data for analytics projects; assesses data quality.
  • Partners with database and data analytics teams to ensure quality reporting and analysis.
  • Draws insights from data and clearly communicates complex findings to stakeholders and external customers.


Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of forecasting and statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Python, Arius, and SAS a plus
  • Pursuing Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS).
