Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a P&C Actuarial Intern to work in our Corporate Actuarial Services based in our Stamford office. This is a hybrid role. Role Description The Intern will work on testing and implementing a new reserving software. As part of this project, they will be exposed to an array of the following: Gain understanding of typical reserving methods Gain experience with an industry standard reserving software Challenging assignments with practical, on-the-job experience Closely working with a small team with diverse backgrounds including actuaries and programmers Opportunity to meet with professionals from different areas in the company Opportunity to present to an actuarial audience Work is done in a team environment, which utilizes the experience and knowledge of all team members. These exposures and projects will provide the Intern with an understanding of the dynamics of a corporate team and its environment. Role Qualifications and Experience In junior year, working towards a Bachelor's degree with an accredited college or university (preferred majors in Actuarial Science or Mathematics) Analytically minded Strong verbal and written communications skills Organizational ability and attention to detail Interpersonal/critical-thinking skills Capacity to work in a team environment Very Strong Excel, Access, and SQL knowledge preferred Salary Range 20.00 - 22.00 USD Theannual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around theU.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials,education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance,skills and/or training.
