Job Summary

This position is responsible for directing new sales activities through staff, consultants and brokers for the mid market segment. This position is responsible for the attainment of goals and objectives, developing strategies, oversight of budgeting, and developing effective operations. Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays (approximately 15% travel).

* Please note, this is a hybrid work environment which includes in-office hours/3 days a week in our Houston Office.

Responsibilities include:
• Direct the achievement of Sales goals and objectives in the attainment of new profitable business and sale of new product lines for mid market segment.
• Develop and recommend marketing strategies to obtain new accounts through contacts with accounts, consultants, and brokerage firms and Blues Plans. Develop sales forecasts and monitor sales activity to ensure goals are met.
• Establish and build relationships with decision-makers of key prospects and with consultants and major brokerage firms for future sales.
• Responsible for mid market sales support activities.
• Ensure successful acquisitions and implementation support in new mid market clients through interaction with management in Actuarial, Underwriting, SSD, HCM, and other divisions.
• Coordinates project, service, and pricing negotiations and responsible for all brokerage and consultant business.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of HCSC products, services, systems, and processes.
• Maintain knowledge of competitor's products and insurance trends.
• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
• Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
• Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
• Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor Degree OR 4 years experience in selling or account management of managed care products.
  • Current, valid State Agent Insurance License.
  • 8 years experience in managed care insurance sales.
  • 3 years of management experience in a managed care environment in account management or sales.
  • Experience managing a book of business for profitability.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience and skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in marketing and sales techniques.
  • Sales/marketing strategy development experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of managed care products, processes, and trends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Experience in addressing customer needs and making business decisions.
  • Experience building strong customer relations.
  • Negotiation, presentation and financial skills.
  • Verbal and written communications, including business writing.


PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
