We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as Head of Open Actuarial Reporting and MI, joining our established Open Actuarial Reporting and Change team.

Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 7,800 colleagues have ever worked.

We're the UK's largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We're a FTSE 100 business that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we're not done yet.

The role

Reporting into the Head of Open Actuarial Reporting and Change you will lead the production, results review and insight generation for Phoenix's Retirement Solutions Value Centres to ensure the delivery of high-quality management information that supports strategic decision making in respect of Annuity, Bulk Purchase Annuity and Equity Release Mortgage business.

In leading a relatively new team you will have the opportunity to optimise and embed how it operates and interacts across a broad range of activity and to lead the adoption of strategic reporting capabilities for the Open Value Centres and the transition into "BAU" delivery of these new capabilities.

Under your leadership this team will provide vital insight into the financial performance of the Phoenix's Open value Centres through production, validation and review of the Profit and Loss Attribution for our matching adjustment portfolios and non-profit fund remaining parts. In addition, the team will provide vital monitoring of the capital impacts of new BPA transactions, and balance sheet impacts of new annuity and pensions and savings business flows. You will take a prominent leadership role, working with senior stakeholders, attending governance committees, and providing expert knowledge to support strategic decision-making.

What are we looking for?

You will ideally have a proven track record of successfully driving delivery of regulatory reporting and/or management information to tight timescales and a strong focus on continuous improvement and driving quality outcomes and efficient operations.

Working or having worked in regular reporting of annuity, BPA and Annuity business you will have exposed to key regulatory reporting metrics (SII, IFRS17), with an understanding of how new business and asset trading impacts drive life insurance balance sheet movements, including capital requirements and strain.

Experience presenting to senior and executive stakeholders, supporting and influencing decision-making, combined with a strong appetite for change and experience of driving continuous improvement would set you up well for success in the role.

We want to hire the whole version of you.
